Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology
Terremoto Biosciences is looking for a self-motivated and intellectually curious SRA or Associate Scientist to help discover a new generation of small molecule cancer therapeutics. The ideal candidate is an expert lab-based in vivo pharmacologist who thrives on rigorous experimentation and is a consummate team player. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a diverse drug discovery team, with ample opportunity to progress their career development in drug discovery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and execute in vivostudies to support target validation and compound testing including PK/PD, efficacy, and mechanisms of action studies
- Perform formulation and administration of test articles for in vivo studies
- Perform in vivo experimental procedures including dosing, tissue collection and processing
- Maintain scientific documentation in an electronic lab notebook.
- Proactively review literature to bring in newest scientific findings, ideas, and methods/technologies for discovery research.
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present research findings in internal scientific meetings as part of our collaborative learning culture.
- Actively participate in and partner with multidisciplinary drug discovery teams.
- Comply with IACUC regulations.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- B.S. or M.S. in a relevant biological field with 3+ years of oncology in vivo experience in industry or academic setting. Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist level commensurate with experience.
- Proficient in handling rodents, dosing via IV, IP, SC, IM, PO, collecting blood by different methods, small animal surgery, harvesting and processing tissue to support ex-vivo assessment.
- Demonstrated experience using rodent disease models to study oncology/immuno-oncology
- Experience with in vitro and ex vivo assays is preferred
- Highly motivated, ability to work within a dynamic, matrixed environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
